1. What Is The Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin Festival?
The Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival is a one-day event sponsored by the Stoweflake Resort and Spa and other local organizations. Its purpose is to benefit the Clarina Howard Nichols Center, which works to end sexual and domestic violence in Lamoille County.

This festival was described as a cross between a shot put contest and a Soapbox Derby by its founder, Dave Jordan. One of the highlights of the fest is the sport of “chuckin” pumpkins, using a gravity-powered catapult as the constructed trebuchet to throw the pumpkins.
This year, the festival will be held at the Stoweflake Mountain Resort, Stowe, Vermont on Sunday, September 26. It will run from 11 am to 4 pm with three rounds of pumpkin chuckin competition at 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm and 2.30 pm.
2. What You Can Expect At The Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival?
The Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin Festival is a family-friendly event, which challenges adults and kids to build a modern version of the medieval catapult, a trebuchet. This is a serious intellectual exercise for all the competitors to make the better one which can throw pumpkins as far as possible.
Not only that, but the fest also features some live music performances, kid’s activities and a chili cook-off to create an enjoyable day for the whole family. The music lineup includes two famous bands in the region, John Smyth and House Dunn.

Participants in the trebuchet contest or the chili cook-off will not need to make a pre-registration. Instead, just spend your time building a good trebuchet or preparing the best chili for the chili cook-off.
There are some notes for attendees. Admission to the fest is $10 with free parking slots. Deb’s Place will serve you food and beverages, so no outside food or beverage will be allowed at the fest, and no dogs too.

Feminine Fall Girl
Inspired by the apple orchard and pumpkins theme, this style is certainly perfect for the fall weather. You would want something comfy enough to walk around, and also stylish to get some good photographs.

For this look, try on a simple dress and a blanket scarf. The rest of the outfits need to be simple: a denim jacket, leggings and a small leather crossbody bag and leather boots.
Sporty Girl In A Comfortable Ensemble
Forget about dresses, you can be sporty as you like on a cool and crisp fall day. Pair a simple graphic tee with a matching flannel and denim skinny jeans to be comfortable. At the fest, you will probably have to walk a lot, so just put on a pair of comfy shoes like sneakers.

Classic Rock Style
A classic rock outfit is something that you may not wear often. When it comes to the Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin Festival, this outfit may give you an outstanding appearance.

For this style, we pair dark wash skinny jeans and a pair of knee-high leather boots. With this basic base, you can add a little fun with the top by choosing an ultra-stylish grey fringe sweater.
This ensemble is incredibly cozy and super fashionable at the same time. If there is a little chill in the air, just throw on an army vest.
