The fest is a celebration of Cranberry, Wisconsin’s state fruit, and it is known as the largest cranberry festival in the world.
1. Where And When Does The Warrens Cranberry Festival Occur?
The Warrens Cranberry Festival is a three-day festival celebrated in the last full weekend of September. This year, it occurs on September 24-26, from 7 am to 5 pm each day.
Being the iconic fall festival of Wisconsin, The Cranberry Festival is located in downtown 112 Main Street, between Oakwood Street and Hayes Street. Every year, the fest welcomes thousands of visitors coming to visit and experience the harvest season in Wisconsin.
2. What To Do At The Cranberry Festival?
When you set foot at the Cranberry Festival, there are a bunch of things you can do. The fest includes plenty of fun activities from cranberry marsh tours, antique and flea markets, arts and crafts to contests, delicious food and parades.
Hundreds Of Vendors Selling Gifts And Crafts
This year, the fest features over 850 vendor booths, including wood sculptures, handmade jewelry, metal garden art, primitives, knitted items, fishing & hunting supplies, clothing, toys, collectibles, sports memorabilia, cranberry produce, fresh fall produce, soaps & lotions, dried flowers, honey, and much much more.
During the fest, make sure to stop by the official Warrens Cranberry Festival Souvenir Booth located on Pine Street to buy buttons, shirts, patches and other cranberry items. And don’t forget to pick up the Annual Fester Button. The button can be used for a 10% discount on any merchandise at Cranberry Festival Booth.
Various Of Fun Contests
Coming to the fest, you can also indulge in a bunch of fun contests and get the cash prize. Some of the most outstanding contests are Be Our Guest “Berry Bunch”, Biggest Berry Contest, Button Design Contest, Cranberry Chiffon Pie Eating Contest, Marsh Medallion Hunt, and Photography Contest.
Cranberry Marsh Tours
Cranberry Marsh Tours is a signature event of Warrens Cranberry Festival, offered all three days of the fest. On Friday and Saturday, there will be tours starting every half hour from 8 am to 3 pm. On Sunday, Cranberry Marsh tours will start every half hour from 10 am to noon.
Before or after your tour, don’t forget to stop by the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center and see the educational display inside the Tin Shed. The walking tour is free, but if you want to donate, the organization will accept and raise funds for the Warrens Cranberry Festival Scholarship.
Royalty Contest
Every year, the Warrens Cranberry Festival chooses a queen and two princesses for the Royalty. At the end of their reign, each Royalty receives a Festival Scholarship. To register for the Royalty, Queen contestants must be between 16 and 21 years old, single and remain so until the next year. Princess contestants must be between 12 and 15 years old. All the Royalty contestants must live within 30 miles of Warrens approximately.
Royalty contestants are judged through an interview of charm, personality, posture, poise, past achievements, grooming and speaking ability.
Different Food Vendors On The Grounds
Not only contests and fun activities, but the fest also features over 100 booths of very unique foods, including Homemade Baked Goods, Cranberries Jubilee/Giant Fry Pan, Pancakes with Cranberry Syrup, Fish Fry on Friday, Island Noodles.
On Saturday, there are plenty of good dishes like Steak Dinner, Cheesecake on a Stick with Hot Fudge Cranberry Drizzle, Deep-fried Cranberries on a Stick, Cranberry Cream Puffs, cheese Curds, Cranberry Coffee, Pizza, Chocolate Cranberry Cookie Dough on a Stick, A Variety of Ethnic Foods, Burgers and Pork Sandwiches, Cranberry Kettle Corn, Macaroni & Cheese- Chicken, Bacon, Ranch, and so much more.
